Through this program, we extend our resources as a nonprofit to grassroots and militant cultural organizing groups and collectives fighting for liberation in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Radical theater and puppetry collective, Papel Machete is a model  of this program.   Since its founding in 2006, Papel Machete has been a laboratory for disruptive storytelling projects using papier-mâché as a medium and varying forms of ancestral, pre-cinematic narrative forms like toy theater, cantastoria, shadow theater, table-top puppetry, humanettes, cut-outs, masks, and giant puppets. Through PEPP, we aim to build solidarity across struggles and redirect resources to unincorporated, independent groups, like Papel Machete, that contest dominant narratives through popular education.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image="15309" img_size="full" add_caption="yes" alignment="center" qode_css_animation=""][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]EL PROGRAMA DE EDUCACIÓN POPULAR Y PERFORMANCE (PEPP) apoya y desarrolla proyectos de educación popular para la agitación que utilizan teatro, títeres, artes visuales y música.

Our collective is composedof a core of puppeteers that come from all walks of life. Teachers, waiters, social workers, students, artists and community organizers all come together to generate cultural work that expresses our concerns about society and our need to to explore creatively by generating and manipulating objects, the subjects in our interventions and performances. All of our work is generated collectively by our active members through facilitated creative processes and construction workshops using papier mâché as our medium and exploring a wide range of forms and styles that include toy theater, cantastoria, shadow theater, table-top puppetry , humanettes, cut-outs, masks, and giants. We have created a repertoire of characters, plays and performances that personify different aspects of economic injustice and struggles of the working class and the oppressed in our struggles for survival and liberation.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation="" row_type="row" use_row_as_full_screen_section="no" type="full_width" angled_section="no" text_align="left" background_image_as_pattern="without_pattern"][vc_column][vc_video link="https://vimeo.com/290723251" align="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row]...
